JOB INTRODUCTION

The Media and Communications Associate will support Slum2School’s storytelling, digital engagement, and content strategy through dynamic visual and written content. This role is ideal for a creative professional with strong skills in social media management, video editing, photography, and content creation who is passionate about social impact and using media as a force for good.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management

  • Manage and grow Slum2School’s presence across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok).
  • Plan, schedule, and publish content using social media tools.
  • Engage with followers and respond to comments/messages in a timely manner.
  • Monitor analytics, track performance, and generate monthly reports.

Video and Multimedia Production

  • Capture and edit high-quality short and long-form videos that highlight Slum2School’s projects, volunteers, beneficiaries, and events.
  • Develop engaging reels, interviews, behind-the-scenes clips, and motion graphics.
  • Collaborate with the team to document field activities and impact stories.

Content Creation and Graphic Design

  • Design compelling visuals and graphics for campaigns, posts, reports, and presentations.
  • Support in curating content calendars and writing engaging captions, newsletters, and blog posts.
  • Ensure consistent brand voice, tone, and visual style across all channels.

Photography & Documentation

  • Capture photos during fieldwork, school visits, events, and special projects.
  • Edit and organize digital assets into an accessible media archive.
  • Support in curating media kits, donor reports, and visual portfolios.

Team Support & Collaboration

  • Work cross-functionally with Programs, Partnerships, and Volunteer teams.
  • Support live events (online & offline) with media coverage and streaming coordination.
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and campaign planning.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Media, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in media, content creation, graphics design or digital communications.
  • Proficient in tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Canva, CapCut, and Lightroom.
  • Excellent command of social media platforms and analytics tools.
  • Strong storytelling, writing, and visual design skills.
  • Good photography/videography skills and eye for aesthetics.
