Join Us To Tackle The Education Challenge In Africa

OUR WORK

Slum2School is focused around advocacy, community interventions, policy formulation, and youth engagement. As a volunteer-driven organization, we work with thousands of volunteers across slums, hard to reach villages and underserved communities where we engage the community to find the best sustainable solution to provide education for children and young people. We build new learning centres, collaborate with community schools to improve education quality and work in partnership with the government to improve the public schools if they exist in these communities.

OUR PROGRAMS

Scholarship Programs

Children from vulnerable and low-income families are adopted as beneficiaries of Slum2School and placed on scholarship in our partner schools, adopted schools or Slum2School owned schools. Our beneficiaries are enrolled in schools, continuously followed up and provided with all educational supply materials throughout the school year.

Individuals and corporate organizations work with us to sponsor our children for certain years through their education.

Teacher Support

Our program involves providing competent teachers to our adopted schools and supporting teachers through training and improved learning methods. Individuals and corporate organizations partner with us to sponsor, support, and improve our teacher program across our various schools.

School Support

Slum2School helps schools in remote areas by giving them access to adequate infrastructure and up-to-date technology by partnering with the government.

Psycho-Social Support

We address several psycho-social issues with the aid of our medical, counselling and legal teams. We also rolled out a Mentorship Circle to address this and every month a series of projects are organized to intervene in communities where such support is needed.

Community Support

These programs include periodical visits to various communities where our beneficiaries live. We carry out advocacy, train, and offer support services in health, family planning, gender-related issues, skill acquisition, and distribution of food, educational, and other relief materials.

Virtual Learning Program

The Virtual Learning Program targets learners in Junior Secondary School to Senior Secondary School (JSS1 – SSS3) and is run through digital tablets. Each learner receives a tablet pre-loaded with learning content and learning is coordinated and monitored by facilitators and trained teachers.

COMPUTER LAB

Computer education and application are great assets to a child especially in the 21st century. A child who has access to a computer with the right learning tools will learn faster and will be more excited about learning. A Computer device with internet access is one of the most powerful tools students can use to learn new skills, advance current lessons, access the world and compete favorably with their peers globally. The facility is now being used by 18 primary schools across the mainland education district.

STEM AND INNOVATION LAB

The STEM and Innovation Lab was designed to help the kids learn how to develop programs, build mobile applications, websites, learn about robotics, big data, coding, animations and explore the world of technology, science, and artificial intelligence.
