The Program Manager plays a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the organization’s programs, ensuring seamless execution, impactful delivery, and sustainable growth. This individual will be responsible for developing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating various programs designed to support underserved communities.

Working closely with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders, the Program Manager will drive the strategic direction of programs, as well as globally recognized model development, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and fostering collaboration to maximize impact. The ideal candidate is a proactive, results-driven professional with exceptional leadership skills, a passion for social impact, and the ability to manage complex projects in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.

Key Areas of Accountability

  • As the Program Manager, you will be responsible for driving sustained programmatic delivery of our organisation’s mission, promoting educational equity, developing strategic partnerships, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance learning outcomes for children living in slums.
  • Proactively build, attract, and maintain partnerships to secure crucial resources and support for sustained program development and delivery.
  • Develop comprehensive program models, strategies, and goals aligned with Slum2School’s mission and objectives.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, global standards, policies and community needs.
  • Manage program budgets, resources, and timelines to achieve program objectives.
  • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess program effectiveness and impact.
  • Identify potential risks to program success and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
  • Regularly assess program processes and outcomes, implementing improvements to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with educators and stakeholders to create engaging and culturally relevant learning models, ensuring alignment with national or regional educational standards.
  • Foster the use of innovative teaching methodologies and educational technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners to enhance program delivery and maximize impact.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate capacity-building initiatives for program staff and volunteers.

 

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A higher degree, such as a Master’s or relevant program management certification, is an added advantage.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in program management or project management roles, preferably in a non-profit or similar environment.
  • Specialization in areas such as Early Childhood Education, Education Management, Community Development, or additional training and certifications related to education management, leadership, community development and engagement is a plus.
  • Membership of a recognized professional education body (TRCN) is an added advantage.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing complex educational and community development programs, with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and evaluating program outcomes to measure effectiveness, impact, and learning outcomes.
  • Proven track record of engaging with local communities, understanding their needs, and fostering partnerships to address educational challenges in underserved areas.

  • Strong understanding of educational challenges in underserved communities and familiarity with innovative solutions.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing innovative educational programs or initiatives.
  • Proficiency in the use of data and insights to inform decision-making, refine programs, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Competence in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure program effectiveness and impact.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative, uses sound, independent judgment, and discretion, and seeks guidance and feedback where appropriate – a doer as well as a manager.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; highly organized with concern for detail and a commitment to rigor.
  • Competence in program planning, monitoring, and evaluation to ensure program effectiveness and impact.
  • Competence in managing educational resources, including budgeting, procurement, and utilization of materials and equipment
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to manage teams, departments, and projects simultaneously.
  • Professionalism, empathy, and the ability to work as part of a team, maintain a sense of humor, and interact with a diverse array of people from all walks of life.

  • Contributing to the growth of the company through a successful team. Creating a pleasant working environment that inspires the team.
  • Ensure the growth of the team as well as the efficient and timely onboarding and offboarding of team members.
